Digital technology has a continuous evolution and digital signage has a big chance to become the biggest communication platform in the next years.
Digital signage is the sum of many technologies that rely on flat screens, LED panels and projection systems able to provide a wide range of content, including images, videos, animations and live data. It is an industry capable to reinvent itself and adapt to a large number of sectors (banking, retail, education, health and transport) and applications to display informational content.
Global digital signage market was evaluated at UDS 16.88 billion in 2015 and it is expected to reach USD 23 billion in 2023, according to Global Market Insights Inc.
LED lighting, a sector having a significant market share in digital signage industry, will grow considerably in the coming years, say experts, due to energy savings characteristics which reduces costs offering in the same time plenty opportunities for industries. According to estimates, by 2030, LED lighting will account for nearly 75% of light sources market.
“LED market in Romania is in full swing although information gets to us a little later due to costs and then gives you the feeling things happen in a slower pace. This year though (2016) I saw a market growth compared to 2010 when we entered the market. I believe 2017 will be a more explosive year for us, at least regarding products so far. And it is only normal to be so, after all, to bring new products on the market. You cannot present yourself at fairs and exhibitions with the same products; you always need to show and present new solutions and systems to manufacturers. If we do not bring them new systems on the market and we do not support them, they are capped. It is our duty, as suppliers, to bring updates on the market and make them known” declares, Daniel Pomparau, Branch Manager Viofil Sign Systems.
The company is one of the leading manufacturers of aluminum profiles, innovative for advertising applications in Romania, developing also LED lighting systems (customized panels). Given that many manufacturers are faced with the lack of technical solutions on the market (aluminum casings used in LED lighting), for Viofil this represents an advantage. “We can say we are positioned between supplier and manufacturer by providing materials and also the complete solution” explains the CEO. Aluminum profiles are manufactured in Greece and lighting systems are custom made for Viofil in China.
Viofil LED systems were first advertised in Romania two years ago at PRINT&SIGN. ”Only now I can say we started to understand working with them” says Daniel Pomparau.
In terms of new products, Viofil will present at PRINT&SIGN 2017 its custom made textile profiles (“we intend to bring them on the market in the first part of the current year since first samples will come in spring”) as well as customized LED lighting systems.
